Ways to Study Abroad or Away at SNHU
To make studying abroad and away accessible to as many students as possible, we offer three distinct programs that vary in cost, location and length to fit your unique goals and circumstances.
Semester Programs
In this traditional study abroad college experience, you’ll spend a fall and/or spring semester at one of our international university partners. Most semester programs do not cost more than attending SNHU, and we’ll work with you to apply the credits you earn abroad in a way that keeps you on track.

Note: This option is only open to undergraduate campus students.
Study Away Immersive Learning (SAIL) Programs
An SNHU professor will be your tour guide on these short-term travel courses. Trips are around 15 days in length and typically take place after spring semester ends. This option is open to both campus and online students.

- Tokyo, Japan
National Student Exchange Program
SNHU is a member of the National Student Exchange. The NSE has more than 150 university partners available for one semester or a full year of study. This program is a great choice if you want to explore other parts of U.S., research graduate school options or get a feel for the area where your career might be located.
Note: This option is only open to undergraduate campus students.
NSE has partner universities in the U.S. and:

- Puerto Rico
- U.S. Virgin Islands
