Program Overview Why get a professional accountancy degree on campus?
In just one extra year, you could earn your Master of Science (MS) in Professional Accountancy from Southern New Hampshire University. This program can help equip you with the latest concepts and practices necessary for professional accounting and auditing. Plus, it can help you meet the educational requirements to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination (CPA Exam). You'll learn to develop, research, analyze and evaluate business decisions in the accounting realm over the course of three 16-week semesters, beginning with the summer term.

Dr. Michael Baker is a certified public accountant. His teaching philosophy centers on "applying professional work experience to engage students with examples and discussion of real-world application of business theories." Prior to Southern New Hampshire University, Baker worked for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a senior manager of audit services.

Before joining Southern New Hampshire University, Daniel J. Murphy served as the department chair of business studies at the Community College System of New Hampshire. During his tenure, he taught accounting, finance and business, earning the Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Teaching. Outside of academia, Murphy's held various management and executive roles in technology-based manufacturing companies, specializing in accounting, finance, IT and human resources. He's a certified public accountant and owns his own consulting firm, Murphy & Associates.

Licensure and Certification Disclosures
Learners interested in the CPA licensure exam can pursue SNHU’s MS in Professional Accountancy degree to help them achieve educational eligibility, which stands at 150 credits in most jurisdictions.
Requirements to sit for the CPA Exam vary by state. Students are encouraged to review their state specific requirements.
